I like how he respects his mom enough to not say this all to her. Sometimes not saying anything back is the best thing to do. I respect him for that. And I guess his mom like all moms is afraid of him losing touch of his culture. Like my mom who pretends not to speak English only cause she wants me to speak our native language at home which is Urdu. This causes some funny misunderstandings cause I am not very fluent in Urdu. My “thinking” language is English, and things get a bit messed up when I translate in my head.
